Overview

Miyu Dynamic Island ("Miyu", "the App") is developed by GIS Analytics Limited ("we", "us"). We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data the App accesses and how it is handled.

Data Collection

Miyu does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data to external servers. The App runs entirely on your Mac. We do not operate any backend services, analytics, or tracking.

On-Device Data Access

Miyu accesses the following data locally on your device to provide its features:

Media Playback: Currently playing track information (title, artist, album art) from Apple Music, Spotify, or YouTube Music — used to display media controls.
System Stats: CPU, GPU, memory, disk, network, battery, and temperature readings — used to display system monitoring widgets.
Calendar & Reminders: Events and reminders from Apple Calendar and Reminders — used to display upcoming items. Access requires your explicit permission via macOS.
Camera: Camera preview in the notch — used only when you enable it. Access requires your explicit permission via macOS.
Clipboard: Pasteboard contents — used to maintain clipboard history locally on your device.
Screen Recording: Screen content detection — used for privacy indicators and the color picker. Access requires your explicit permission via macOS.
Accessibility: System accessibility API — used for window management and detecting system state. Access requires your explicit permission via macOS.
Location: Approximate location — used only for weather data on lock screen widgets, fetched from Open-Meteo (a privacy-friendly weather API that does not track users).

All of this data stays on your Mac. None of it is sent to us or any third party (except weather coordinates sent to Open-Meteo's public API for weather data).

Third-Party Services

Open-Meteo: Weather data is fetched from Open-Meteo's free API using your approximate location. Open-Meteo does not require an API key and does not track users. See Open-Meteo's terms.
Sparkle: The App uses Sparkle for update checks. This contacts our update server to check for new versions. No personal data is sent — only the app version and macOS version.

Data Storage

All preferences, clipboard history, notes, and timer data are stored locally on your Mac using macOS UserDefaults and local files. No cloud sync. No remote storage.

Children's Privacy

The App does not knowingly collect any data from children. Since we collect no personal data from anyone, this applies equally to users of all ages.

Changes to This Policy

If we update this policy, we will post the new version on this page with an updated date. Significant changes will be communicated through the App's update notes.
